Lithuanian man has over 2 pounds of nails, screws, nuts, and knives surgically removed from stomach

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A man in Lithuania had been swiftly transported to a hospital earlier this week after the man swallowed down over 2 pounds of metallic objects in a strange effort to quit consuming alcohol.

The man, who’s a carpenter, confessed to consuming the screws, nails, nuts, and even knives, in an attempt to end his addiction to drinking alcohol. He went through an emergency surgery that lasted for three hours at the Klaipeda University Hospital, BBC News reported.

The objects included metallic items that were 4 inches in length. The surgeon named Sarunas Dailidenas said to the Lithuanian news site LRT that it had been a “unique case.”

It was said that the man is currently in stable condition after his metal removal surgery.
