Chicago man accused of microwaving kitten to death, killing other felines

A male resident of Chicago has been apprehended for allegedly inflicting severe pain and ending the lives of multiple felines.

Thomas Martel, aged 22, surrendered to authorities on Monday following a woman’s report concerning an incident of mistreatment towards animals, according to FOX 32 Chicago.

He faces four counts of aggravated brutality towards animals and two allegations of animal torment, all classified as serious crimes.

According to authorities, Martel purportedly compressed and drowned two felines until they perished, while a third feline met its demise through mutilation.

Authorities discovered a kitten within a plastic sack at the residence of Martel when they were conducting investigations.

The lady who informed authorities claimed that the feline had been subjected to microwave radiation.

Each of the deceased kittens had the name Shelly.

According to the news source, a report on the apprehension revealed that Martel had been consuming prescribed drugs and was struggling with severe psychological conditions.
