Former Washington DC police officer arrested in Florida on sex with minor charges

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A former police officer for Washington, DC that led the force’s LGBT liaison unit got apprehended in Florida this past weekend for purportedly taking part in sexual activity acts with a minor.

53-year-old Brett Parson was apprehended on Saturday in Boca Raton for an arrest warrant coming from the Coconut Creek Police Department. Parson is facing two counts of charges for illegal sex with a minor.

According to court records, Parson is jailed at Palm Beach Country’s Main Detention Center with no bail. It was not promptly clear if Parson was able to retain a lawyer that can communicate on his behalf.

Parson worked on the force for almost 3 decades as a cop with the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. For several years he was the leader of the department’s LGBT Liaison Unit.

Parson retired in February 2020 from being a full-time MPD police officer. That same year he informed the Washington Blade that, “I will remain with MPD as a part-time Reserve Officer serving at the pleasure of the Reserve Corp in whatever role I can best assist the agency I love.”

The MPD stated it terminated Brett Parson from its Reserve Corps after discovering his apprehension on Sunday in the early morning.
