CORONA, CALIFORNIA – In a shocking turn of events, a man from Corona, California, has been apprehended on Saturday for committing a severe hit-and-run offense. The incident unfolded on the 91 freeway, near the 15 in Corona, when the driver collided with a motorcyclist and callously dragged the bike at high speeds in front of his van.
The driver, identified as George Valentin, a 25-year-old individual, confessed to his involvement in the incident when approached by the California Highway Patrol. Following his admission, Valentin was promptly taken into custody and is currently detained at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
The victim of this harrowing event is Chain Arunritthirot, the motorcyclist, who was propelled approximately 200 feet away, landing in the middle of the freeway due to the force of the collision.
Rather than stopping to assess the situation, Valentin continued driving with the motorcycle still attached to the front of his vehicle. The perilous journey came to an abrupt end when Valentin crashed into a fence. Subsequently, he fled the scene on foot, seeking refuge in a nearby drainage ditch. Although witnesses attempted to apprehend Valentin, they lost sight of him during the pursuit.
Arunritthirot expressed his belief that the incident was a deliberate act as if he was being relentlessly pursued. Fortunately, the collision did not result in any severe injuries. However, Arunritthirot did complain of pain in his arms and legs due to road rash. Understandably, he remains shaken by the entire ordeal.
Natalie Duran and Will Ross, who were present at the scene, managed to capture video footage of the incident. They diligently followed the minivan while alerting the California Highway Patrol. Arunritthirot is eager to meet with Duran and Ross to express his gratitude for their quick thinking in documenting the crash and aiding in the arrest of the suspect.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the consequences that can arise from reckless behavior on the road.
