(The AEGIS Alliance) – A 94-year-old ex-sheriff’s deputy in Shreveport, Louisiana recently confessed to committing sex crimes involving a child under the age of 13 and was given a 10-year prison term as a result.
The Caddo Parish District Attorney’s office stated that Otis Leroy Allen, a former Bossier Sheriff’s deputy, was able to come into contact with the victim as a “family friend.” He is accused of having sexually assaulted the victim, a girl in the fifth grade, at various locations in Shreveport during November 2019.
On January 23rd, a Monday, Allen admitted his guilt of committing indecent acts with a child under the age of 13 and was given a sentence of 10 years imprisonment, with eight years suspended. After his release, the District Attorney’s Office said that he will be under supervision for three years, and he is prohibited from contacting the victim or her family. Furthermore, Allen is required to pay $5,000 in compensation to the victim and will have to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, the victim’s family was present during the sentencing and agreed to the plea deal.
