3 Pennsylvania cops charged in killing of 8-year-old girl at high school football game

(The AEGIS Alliance) – Three cops in Pennsylvania are facing manslaughter as well as reckless endangerment charges after the deadly police shooting of an aged 8 little girl at a high school football game.

Police killed Fanta Bility on August 27 during an incident where gunshots were fired following a game at the Sharon Hill Academy Park High School, not far from Philadelphia after 2 teenagers got into a disagreement. After cops reacted and likewise fired gunshots, Bility was hit by the gunfire, ABC News reported.

Detectives discovered that gunfire coming from the three cops was what hit the little girl.

The Sharon Hill cops were charged on Tuesday by the Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer. The charged officers are Devon Smith, Sean Dolan, and also Brian Devaney with 12 manslaughter counts that include both voluntary and involuntary as well as the reckless endangerment “for their actions that night.”

“We have now concluded beyond a reasonable doubt that it was, in fact, shots from the officers that struck and killed Fanta Bility and injured three others,” the district attorney’s office pointed out.

The three cops got put on administrative leave following the young girl’s death and the Sharon Hill Borough Council is going to vote on Thursday to decide if the three officers should be fired.

A bond amount has been set at $500,000 for each of the arrested officers and they’re scheduled to appear back in court.

The teenagers that initially shot their guns during the football game, get 18 Hasein Strand as well as an age 16 teen, are likewise being charged. Critics argue that the cops were reckless and that the teens shouldn’t be charged for Fanta Bility’s death.

Strand is expected to serve between 32 and 64 months in a state penitentiary after making a guilty plea to unlawful possession of a gun as well as aggravated assault charges for his wounding of a child bystander in the course of the gunbattle.

The age 16 teenager “remains charged with serious crimes for his attempt to kill Strand,” prosecutors stated.
