The heartbreaking story began on March 18th when Kriger, facing a court hearing the next day, targeted her ex in a chilling display of despair. She first vandalized his home in his absence, then returned to her own residence, where investigators later discovered her wedding dress and photos desecrated with bullet holes.

Back on March 19, the bodies of 32-year-old Savannah Kriger and her son Kaiden were discovered lifeless in a San Antonio park, both having suffered fatal gunshot wounds to their heads. The next hours were a desperate spiral. Kriger picked up Kaiden from daycare before bombarding his father with menacing texts and video calls. “You won’t have anything left,” she threatened, foreshadowing the grim events to come.

On March 7, Savannah Kriger had filed to get a divorce, along with getting a temporary restraining order, according to My San Antonio.

Officials reported that the mother instructed her 3-year-old son to "bid farewell to Father" on video shortly before she fatally shot him in a trench and then took her own life with the firearm. Mom made 3-year-old son say ‘goodbye to daddy’ on camera before shooting boy dead in murder-suicide

A single, 21-second video recovered from Kriger’s phone captured a chilling final moment. Seated in a park ditch with Kaiden, she instructed him to “say goodbye to daddy.” A forced apology followed, acknowledging his father’s absence before a kiss goodbye. The authorities believe this video, despite not showing the shootings, spoke volumes about Kriger’s intentions.
