Disgraced Indiana Teacher gets 4 Years in Prison for Rape Sex with Teen Girl in Classroom
(The AEGIS Alliance) – A disgraced Indiana teacher has just received a four-year prison sentence for having sex with or raping a teenager according to reports. The girl was only thirteen years old.
Eric Gerdes, age 39, did plead guilty to the charges in October. He was alleged to have molested the girl between 2011 and 2013 while he worked as a teacher as reported by WPTA-TV on Monday.
The girl informed investigators that Gerdes of Huntington, Indiana also made her perform certain sexual acts on live video.
Gerdes was initially charged with several counts of sexual misconduct. One of them was molesting a child and another was sexual misconduct with a minor. Other offenses also included one offense of vicarious sexual gratification and another for the dissemination of matter harmful to minors as reported by WANE-TV.
Gerdes additionally pleaded guilty to one count of sexual misconduct with a minor in a deal that prosecutors offered to drop all the other charges filed against him.
To add to the four-year prison sentence given to him, he will serve two years of probation after his release from prison.
