Highland, California woman arrested for sex crimes against a 14-year-old girl

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A woman in Highland, California was apprehended by authorities after an investigation that lasted a month into the sexual abuse of an age 14 girl, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, KTLA initially reported.

Detectives started exploring the case on June 17 following the discovery of purported sexual criminal offenses against the teenage girl by a woman.

The investigation resulted in Joana Aide Aguilar, age 24, being arrested by police that was found to have sexually abused the young girl, the Sheriff’s Department explained.

Aguilar was jailed on Thursday over being suspected of setting up to meet with an underage victim for the purpose of sexual activity, penetration with a foreign object, and also contributing toward the delinquency of an underage child. Joana Aide Aguilar’s bond amount has been set at $250,000.

The investigation continues to be carried out and any individual with relevant information, or any individual that believes they had been victimized by the suspect, is advised to phone the sheriff’s Crimes Against Children Office at 909-387-3620.
