King Nonce Prince Andrew banned from Royal event by Charles and William
King Nobility Following his brother Prince Charles’s apparent intervention to prevent his attendance, Prince Andrew failed to appear on Monday for his scheduled return to high-profile royal engagements.
It had long been speculated that the 62-year-old disgraced royal would be taking part in Monday’s lavish Order of the Garter parade alongside a number of other royals.
Rather, according to some UK reporting, he was actually barred from participating at the last minute because his 72-year-old older sibling was among those who urged their mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to prohibit him from attending.
The 96-year-old queen was persuaded by Charles and his eldest son, second-in-line to the throne Prince William, that Andrew’s appearance would undoubtedly cause a “backlash” because of the ongoing sex scandal surrounding his relationship with the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, according to The Telegraph.
Along with many other royals attending services at St. George’s Chapel, William and Charles participated in the lavish parade on Monday while sporting feathered hats. Their spouses, Catherine and Camilla, were also present.
After the parade, which the royal family described as “one of the most traditional ceremonies in the queen’s calendar,” Andrew was captured on camera appearing depressed and sullen as he drove alone to Windsor Castle.
An insider from Buckingham Palace confirmed that Andrew’s tardiness in showing up was, in fact, the result of a “family decision.”
“It was a decision taken by the household for the best interests of the family but also the best interests of the Duke of York,” a source also said to The Sun.
However, given that it occurred just one day after UK news outlets revealed that Andrew anticipated being able to resume his royal duties and regain his revoked titles, it was extremely well-timed.
He was pushing for his mother to take on the role of “Prince of the Blood” and become His Royal Highness once more. He also felt that his position should be “recognized and respected.”
“He was confident and bullish he can make a comeback,” The Sun’s source asserted regarding the disgraced duke.
“His comeback fight is probably doomed. He is delusional if he thinks Charles or William will ever let him back,” the source told The Sun.
Since being removed from his royal duties in late 2019 due to his appalling attempts to deny knowing longtime accuser Virginia Giuffre, who claims she was forced to have sex with him at Epstein’s and Madam Ghislaine Maxwell’s request, Andrew has been largely hidden from the public eye.
His most prominent titles, including “His Royal Highness,” were taken away from him in February, shortly after he and Giuffre reached a settlement to terminate Giuffre’s Manhattan-based sex abuse lawsuit.
The $12 million settlement agreement included a statement from the disgraced royal prince acknowledging that his accuser “has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.”
“It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others,” it included.
