Las Vegas-area Air Force commander arrested for felony child sex crimes

(The AEGIS Alliance) – The lieutenant colonel managed the Thunderbirds prior to taking on a recent task in June.

Authorities in Las Vegas apprehended a U.S. Air Force commander that operates at Nellis Air Force Base in the south area of Nevada on felony child sex crimes.

Kevin DiFalco is facing 7 counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 18, and also a single count of child neglect or abuse, Las Vegas Justice Court documents reveal.

DiFalco commanded the 57th Operations Support Squadron as well as an F-16 captain designated to the Nellis Air Force Base. Because of the misconduct accusations, DiFalco was removed from his job, a representative for the base said.

“The 57th Wing Commander, Brig. Gen. Richard Goodman, relieved the 57th Operations Support Squadron Commander on September 8 due to allegations of personal misconduct,” the representative stated. “Lt. Col. Kevin DiFalco was arrested at his off-base residence Sept. 8 and is under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, in coordination with the Air Force.”

A representative with the LVMPD stated information about the case will not be made publicly available because it involves an adolescent.

Kevin DiFalco made bail on Friday. Court documents indicate that “probable cause existed for the defendant’s arrest. Therefore, the defendant’s biological specimen shall be submitted to the appropriate forensic laboratory for genetic marker analysis.”

Lt. Col Kevin “GATOR” DiFalco’s Instagram account posted that there are greater than 50 posts that look to be on-the-job.

A recent post from June 9 has a caption that reads, “DAY 1 at 40 years old was amazing, just another day following the dream. Yesterday was a great day to celebrate my 40th with family and friends.”

A planned status check is scheduled for October 11.

Kevin DiFalco talked with Nexstar’s KLAS in 2021 regarding the Thunderbirds.

“The energy is always high,” he mentioned. “Kids are screaming and yelling and jumping up and down with excitement.”
