New video shows Rochester cop tell pepper sprayed 9-year-old girl: ‘You did it to yourself, hon’

A Rochester police officer told a distraught 9-year-old girl “You did it to yourself, hon” after she had been doused with pepper spray, a newly released bodycam video shows.

The exchange occurred while the girl sat handcuffed in the backseat of a police cruiser while she waited for an ambulance for 16 minutes.

“Please don’t do this to me,” the little girl said to a female officer shortly after being pepper-sprayed.

“You did it to yourself, hon,” the officer tells the girl.

The girl, who has not been identified, was seen in a previously released viral bodycam video having a mental breakdown on January 29 after police responded to the household on a report of a dispute.

City officials later stated the girl was suicidal and threatened to kill her mom.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren stated the city released nearly 90 minutes of further video on Thursday in an effort to be transparent.

In the brand new footage, the kid may also be heard wailing in pain and asking for her dad.

She asks a number of times when the ambulance will arrive to wash the pepper spray from her eyes. The officer informs her it’s on its way, however, delayed because of snowy roads.

“If you stick your head towards the window the cold air is going to feel nice,” an officer tells her.

“It’s burning too bad,” she says.

“It’s supposed to burn. It’s called pepper spray,” she is told.

Officers seen in a video released on Sunday have been suspended pending the outcomes of an investigation into the incident.

It took nine officers to deal with a 9-year-old little girl, what a bunch of cowards!
