Police Shove Through Crowd, Arrest Diners at Fresno, California Waffle Shop on Mother’s Day
(The AEGIS Alliance) – FRESNO, CALIFORNIA – Police arrested at least two people after officers attempted to enter a diner in Fresno, California that was open illegally in defiance of a stay-at-home order.
The diners are seen standing in line in front of the Waffle Shop. Police officers gave an order for the diners to move out of the way so they could go inside the restaurant. The diners refused the order and then officers used force to shove the patrons aside. At least two people were arrested and taken into police custody during the confrontation.
Jim Fisher originally recorded video of the incident and uploaded the footage to Facebook.
“Disgraceful on Mother’s Day,” Fisher wrote.
The Waffle Shop’s owner had made the decision to defy local lawmaker’s stay-at-home orders by reopening his business for the weekend.

The city of Fresno’s code enforcement department gave shop owner Ammar Ibrahim a warning on Thursday and told him he could face his business being shut down, be criminally prosecuted, his business license revoked, other legal actions and fines if he kept his business open and allowed guests to dine in his restaurant.
“It’s not about money. It’s more about principles and rights and getting back to the way life’s supposed to be,” Ammar Ibrahim said to Fox26.
Fox26 reported that the diners were practicing social distancing and restaurant staffers were wearing face-covering masks to be in compliance with CDC guidelines.
Unfortunately, Ibrahim was ticketed $1,000 last Friday, and he’s been warned by the city the fines could be increased to $10,000.
The restaurant’s water supply was turned off just a few minutes after Ibrahim was fined.
However, according to Fox26, the City of Fresno said the city didn’t shut the water off, and it had nothing to do with it.
Among the diners, at the Waffle Shop, that day for lunch was Councilmembers Garry Bredefeld, who is a critic of the city’s orders.
“I was elected to represent the people. We all swore on oath to the Constitution, to support and defend the Constitution from all foreign enemies, and all domestic enemies. These guys have betrayed their oath. They betrayed their constituents, and they tore up the constitution,” Bredefeld said.
