California DMV issues driver’s license to woman wearing face mask in photo

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A California woman was shocked to receive a renewed driver’s license that includes a photograph of her sporting a face covering.

“I knew the picture was not going to be good because license pictures are never good, but I did not expect the picture to be with my mask on,” Lesley Pilgrim said to KOVR.

Pilgrim, of Sacramento, informed the station that she was carefully following directions while at the DMV and remembered getting her photo taken with and without the mask on prior to her signing the paperwork.

“I sign it and I then I go home, and unfortunately he had used my picture with my mask on, and that’s what showed up on my Real ID,” Pilgrim said.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles said the incident was an oversight and workers will be reminded of “proper procedures.”

“I think I settled on, you know what, we’re all human, and even the people at the DMV are human and we all make mistakes,” Lesley Pilgrim added.

The DMV stated Pilgrim ought to return to get a new license at no additional cost and would be working with her to reschedule.
