The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash, and initial evidence may have given a breakthrough. According to the investigators, the pilot door was open or not closed properly at the time of the crash. The failure of the door might have been the cause of the crash, but more effort is needed to find the cause behind the incident.

Eyewitness accounts and the cockpit audio state that everything suddenly went wrong shortly before the crash. One such eyewitness—John Martinez, who also works in the vicinity—told reporters, “I heard a loud boom and then saw smoke rising from the warehouse. It was terrifying.”

The site of the crash, which is in a crowded commercial region, received quick reactions from the emergency teams. “Our teams worked tirelessly to rescue survivors and contain the situation. The community’s response has been commendable during this difficult time,” said Chief Tom Schultz from the Fullerton Fire Department.

According to local authorities, residents should “be cautious” about debris around the area . This precaution is in connection with another reason, but it explains the requirement for the community’s response after such incidents.

The incident has opened discussions about the safety of small aircraft and rules about homebuilt planes. Aviation expert Sarah Thompson said, “While homebuilt aircraft can be safe when properly constructed and maintained, this tragic event highlights the need for rigorous safety checks and pilot training.”

The investigators have continued to find the sequence of events leading up to the crash as the Fullerton community comes to terms with the incident. The incident has opened the need to think about the safety issues of aviation and the promotion of more safety rules in the industry.
