2 dead, 19 injured after small plane collides with warehouse in Southern California

On Thursday afternoon, a small aircraft encountered a catastrophic incident in Fullerton, California, causing 2 deaths and injuring 19 people.

At 2:09 p.m., the Fullerton Police Department received an emergency notification that an aircraft had collided with a commercial structure within the city limits.

Emergency responders, including law enforcement and firefighters, rushed to the scene. To ensure public safety, firefighting efforts began concurrently with the evacuation of adjacent businesses.

The type of aircraft involved, as well as the precise location of the injured individuals – whether they were on board the aircraft or inside the impacted building – are still being investigated.

Visual evidence captured by the KABC news outlet shows a plume of white smoke rising from the roof of a large commercial building.

The aviation incident occurred near Fullerton Municipal Airport, a general aviation facility in Orange County that is about six miles from the world-renowned Disneyland Resort. This airport has one runway and a dedicated helipad.

The Metrolink regional rail system runs near the incident site, through a residential neighborhood and a cluster of commercial warehouses.

Fullerton, a city of approximately 140,000 people, is strategically located about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles’ metropolitan center.
