Florida Officer demanded Victim Send Him ‘Inappropriate Photographs’ in Return for Stolen Property

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A Florida cop has been charged with bribery after he told a victim of theft he’d return her stolen property if she sent him “inappropriate photographs,” according to authorities on Monday.

Brian Pace has been with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for 11 years and was arrested on Sunday evening after the woman told authorities about what he demanded.

The officer had resigned from his position with the department. Pace first spoke with the victim at the beginning of May when she contacted the department to report that her cell phone and other property had been stolen, according to a press conference by Undersheriff Pat Ivey.

Pace contacted the woman again later on and that’s when the woman alleges he made the disturbing demand.

The victim reported to the sheriff’s office earlier this month about the abuse that launched an investigation into the incident that led to the officer being arrested last weekend. Ivey said officer Pace was busted after he met with the victim to return the woman’s stolen items.

Former officer Pace has been charged with second-degree bribery.

Brian Pace is the seventh employee and the third police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office who has faced criminal charges this year so far.
