Authorities raid Andrew Tate’s Romania home as new allegations emerge involving minors

Early on Wednesday morning, controversial internet influencer Andrew Tate’s Bucharest home was the target of additional raids by Romanian law enforcement. The notorious person, who is presently serving a prison sentence for charges related to human trafficking, discovered that he was once again being watched by the authorities.

The anti-organized crime agency in Romania, DIICOT, declared that it was opening a thorough investigation into claims of serious offenses such as sexual relations with a minor, child trafficking, and human trafficking. Extensive searches were conducted on several properties located in Bucharest and the neighboring areas.

Mateea Petrescu, a spokesman for Tate, confirmed the raids but provided few details regarding the particular accusations. The spokesperson declined to comment on allegations involving minors while the legal team was present.

Tate’s expansive property on the outskirts of the Romanian capital was painstakingly examined by dozens of police officers and forensic specialists. The agency stressed that the people who are being investigated will be fully protected by their procedural rights and the presumption of innocence throughout the legal process.

Since their arrest in 2022, Andrew Tate—a former kickboxer with millions of social media followers—and his brother Tristan have been involved in court cases. Dual-citizens of the United States and Britain, the brothers have angrily refuted the accusations made against them.

A Romanian court decided in April that there was enough proof to move forward with the Tate brothers’ trial. A precise start date has not yet been decided. Defendants can contest the evidence presented by the prosecutors.

The Tate brothers’ freedom to travel has been restricted in a number of ways since their arrest. They have been imprisoned, given house arrest, and allowed to only travel to certain areas of Romania. The brothers have been trying to get out of the country for some months now, but their attempts have failed.

Renowned for his divisive and misogynistic online persona, Andrew Tate has continuously defended his innocence and asserted that the accusations against him are politically driven. His hateful content has caused his social media accounts to be suspended multiple times.

The Tate brothers face extradition proceedings to the UK in addition to the charges they face in Romania. They are sought for allegations of sexual aggression there. The extradition request has been granted by a Romanian court, but the procedure will probably be delayed due to the domestic proceedings.
