NYC grandpa, 77, ran over and killed by his own car during dispute with another driver over parking space

A terrible incident unfolded in Brooklyn on Thursday, claiming the life of a 77-year-old man. Iosif Lontsman tragically lost his life after a disagreement with another driver over a parking spot turned into a devastating event.

Authorities report that Lontsman exited his Subaru Forester, apparently forgetting to shift it out of gear, to approach a 43-year-old woman in a Nissan Altima regarding the parking space at the intersection of Avenue W and Ocean Avenue in Sheepshead Bay. As he stepped out, the Subaru began to roll forward, striking Lontsman before colliding with the Nissan.

According to the NYPD, the elderly man, residing approximately one and a half miles away from the crash site, was trapped between the two vehicles. (Citizen app) Lontsman was quickly taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn where he was declared deceased. The force of the incident left Lontsman pinned between the vehicles, according to a preliminary investigation by the NYPD. Sadly, first responders found him unresponsive and suffering from severe head and body trauma. Despite being rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, he was pronounced dead.
