Parents find 5,000 fentanyl pills inside daughter’s Glo Worm doll in Phoenix, Arizona: Police
(The AEGIS Alliance) – A Phoenix, Arizona couple discovered a different sort of glow in their daughter’s Glo Worm.
The Phoenix mother and father had been washing the stuffed toy after shopping for it at a thrift retailer last week when they discovered over 5,000 fentanyl pills inside the doll, police said.
The drugs had been packed in a sandwich bag that was hidden contained inside the glowing toy, the Phoenix Police Department stated in a press release.
“Great job parents!” the department mentioned in a Facebook post on Saturday.
The couple purchased the used toy at a retailer within the Phoenix suburb of El Mirage, however, decided to wash it before giving it to their youngster. After discovering the pills, they called authorities and handed the pills to the officers, according to police.
Police urged parents to follow this example and inspect previously owned toys before giving them to children.
“Remember, please inspect all opened and used items for your family’s safety,” police stated.
Whoever hid the pills inside the Glo Worm — and apparently forgot to remove them prior to getting rid of it probably lost thousands of dollars. The average street value of each fentanyl tablet is estimated at $40, based on information from the Addiction Center.
