Dog Shot Man With Rifle: German Court Rules Owner Not Fit for License
(The AEGIS Alliance) – After a dog shot its owner with a rifle, a German court in Berlin ruled that the dog owner is not fit to carry a firearms license.
On Tuesday, the man’s appeal against a previous decision by Bravarian authorities to withdraw his license to own a rifle was denied by the Munich administrative court, along with his hunting permit.
This decision came after an incident in 2016 in which the man, who is passionate about hunting, was shot in the arm after his dog was able to release the trigger on his loaded rifle that was in his vehicle.
According to the court, it ruled the hunter is not reliable because, “it must be assumed that he will handle firearms and ammunition carelessly in the future as well.”
The man’s name was not released, but he is able to appeal the court’s decision.
