Woman in furious rage caught on video punching firefighter, then crashing into police car
Following a tumultuous altercation involving a firefighter, an undercover police officer, and an automobile accident, a California woman was taken into custody on Wednesday. The 36-year-old Jessica Chavez was seen on camera abusing a Los Angeles County firefighter severely both verbally and physically after the firefighter broke up a roadside argument.
The firefighter saw Chavez get into a furious argument with someone else when the incident happened in the Gardena area. He came over to offer assistance, worried about her safety. Chavez’s reply, though, was anything but grateful. She started yelling at the fireman through the window of his truck, causing the argument to turn violent, according to CBS News.
Witnesses said that Chavez even threw punches through the open window and struck the firefighter’s vehicle. Frank Rojas was among the onlookers who witnessed the altercation and recorded it on his phone due to its extreme intensity. “She was hitting the windows of the car, and then they were continuing it,” Rojas recalled. “And then I hear the officer saying ‘Oh we’re trying to help you,’ this and that, and, you know, ‘you’re making it worse.'”
As the altercation intensified, Chavez went back to her own vehicle, which was obstructing traffic. She was informed that they were contacting emergency services by the firefighter who pursued her. After driving away, Chavez returned a short while later and purposefully collided with the fire engine and an undercover police car.
For some strange reason, nobody was hurt physically, even though the fire truck’s tire was damaged.
Chavez was arrested for allegedly utilizing a dangerous weapon, assaulting a firefighter, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated on alcohol.
