Mom made 3-year-old son say ‘goodbye to daddy’ on camera before shooting boy dead in murder-suicide

In March, a tragic event occurred in San Antonio when 32-year-old Savannah Kriger and her 3-year-old son Kaiden were discovered dead. Authorities surmise that it was a murder-suicide motivated by an impending custody dispute between Kriger and her ex-husband.

The terrible tale started on March 18 when Kriger, who had a court appearance the following day, turned her desperation toward her ex in a terrifying gesture. When he wasn’t around, she first damaged his house, then went back to her own house, where investigators later found her wedding gown and pictures shot through.

Back on March 19, the bodies of 32-year-old Savannah Kriger and her son Kaiden were discovered lifeless in a San Antonio park, both having suffered fatal gunshot wounds to their heads. What followed was a spiral of desperation. After picking Kaiden up from daycare, Kriger sent his father a series of threatening texts and video calls. She warned, “You won’t have anything left,” hinting at the gloomy things that would happen.

According to My San Antonio, Savannah Kriger filed for divorce and obtained a temporary restraining order on March 7.

Officials reported that the mother instructed her 3-year-old son to "bid farewell to Father" on video shortly before she fatally shot him in a trench and then took her own life with the firearm. Mom made 3-year-old son say ‘goodbye to daddy’ on camera before shooting boy dead in murder-suicide

Kriger’s phone contained a solitary, 21-second video that showed a terrifying end. She was sitting with Kaiden in a park ditch, telling him to “say goodbye to daddy.” He gave a strained apology, acknowledged his father’s absence, and bid farewell with a kiss. Though it doesn’t depict the shootings, the authorities think this footage says a lot about Kriger’s motivations.

Sadly, 19 hours later, their bodies were discovered. After the Medical Examiner verified a murder-suicide, the community was left to deal with the chaos caused by a horribly mishandled custody battle.
