Andrew Accused of an Orgy With Underage Girls in Maxwell Filings, Then Stripped of Titles and Arrested
SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF NEW YORK — Unsealed filings around Ghislaine Maxwell’s indictment accused Andrew of having “an orgy with numerous girls who were underage.” Virginia Giuffre said she was forced to have sex with him. Independent and the Toronto Sun had already reported the nine-girl island story in 2019. Giuffre, under oath, said Andrew “would know a lot of the truth” and might talk “seeing that he’s in a lot of trouble himself.” Attorney Spencer Kuvin called hiding behind the monarchy cowardly.

Maxwell was convicted in December 2021 and sentenced in June 2022 to 20 years. On August 25, 2026 Judge Paul Engelmayer rejected her habeas petition. Andrew settled Giuffre’s civil suit in February 2022 for a sum widely reported at about £12 million, without admitting liability. Queen Elizabeth stripped honorary military roles and the HRH style. Giuffre’s memoir Nobody’s Girl, published October 2025 after she died by suicide in Western Australia on April 24, 2025 at 41, said she was forced to have sex with him three times, the first at 17, and that his “team” tried to hire trolls to harass her. He has continued to deny meeting her.
On October 17, 2025 he said he would stop using Duke of York. On November 3, 2025 King Charles’s Letters Patent made him Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, no prince, no Royal Highness, out of Royal Lodge. On February 19, 2026 — his 66th birthday — Thames Valley Police arrested him on suspicion of misconduct in public office after Epstein files alleged he shared confidential trade-envoy information with the financier. He was released under investigation, neither charged nor cleared. Giuffre’s brother Sky Roberts said the family was sad she was not there to see it.
