The question was how much jail time a judge would attach to a plea that also covered a hotel room on Railroad Street.

Judge Anne Edwards sentenced Tedford, then 24, to 360 days in jail with 180 days suspended for three years, two years of probation after release, $10,520.59 in restitution to the co-op, $500 to the Marriott, a ban from both properties, and continued mental-health counseling. Prosecutors dropped the original Class B felony to six misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief as part of the deal. She pleaded guilty to all six.

Keene police arrested Tedford on February 21, 2025, after an anonymous tip on February 14 pointed them to videos of a local “content creator” contaminating stock at the Monadnock Food Co-op. Store managers pulled inventory, scrubbed the floor, and issued a recall. Early police statements put the co-op’s immediate loss near $1,500 in destroyed goods and cleaning. The restitution order at sentencing was larger, because a member-owned store does not stop counting at the first trash bag.

Tedford had worked around food and then built an online brand off the footage. Investigators later said some of the videos were recorded for subscribers to a page that used the name “Kinki Kelli” and has since been taken down. The co-op has been explicit on one point that early coverage got wrong: she was not on its payroll when the recall hit.

Steven Tenney called food tampering “a troubling and disconcerting occurrence.” Co-op general manager Michael Faber said the store had “removed all products that potentially were compromised and have done a thorough cleaning of the entire store.”

New Hampshire does not have a custom statute labeled “online food tampering.” Criminal mischief had to carry the weight. Four years of footage means the clips found an audience long before Keene police did. Platforms will say they do not host food-tampering content. They also built the market that pays for it. Keene is a small city. A co-op is a member-owned store. People who shopped there for a decade had to decide whether a bag of grain bought in 2023 was in one of the videos. That is the harm a view-count never prices in. The sentence prices a fraction of it: half a year, a restitution check, and a door she is no longer allowed to walk through.

There is a reason prosecutors took the misdemeanor deal. A felony trial would have put the videos in front of a jury and forced the co-op’s members to sit through them again. A plea puts the defendant in a cell and the inventory loss on a ledger. It does not put the subscriber list in the record. The people who paid to watch a woman urinate on bulk grain are not in the judgment. They never are.

Food-tampering cases usually arrive as a single panicked afternoon in a supermarket. This one arrived as an archive. That is the new angle. The internet did not invent the impulse. It invented a way to invoice it, month after month, until an anonymous tip finally reached a detective in a city of 23,000 people. The court has now invoiced her back. Whether the platforms that hosted the subscriber page keep a copy of the payments is a question Keene police never had the tools to answer in a criminal-mischief file. The people who shop at a co-op on a Tuesday morning should not have to wonder if the bag on the shelf was in a video from 2021.
