汤姆·吉尔比在隆登马拉松上品尝了25道葡萄酒,于4:41完成,为他母亲的临终纪念会筹集了24,330英镑.

Tom Gilbey did not chug 25 glasses of wine. He ran 26.2 miles through London on April 21, 2024, with two glasses clipped to a belt, stopped near the mile markers, and tried to name the grape, the country, and the vintage while his heart rate was in the red. He spat most of it. He finished in 4 hours and 41 minutes. Then he drank champagne. The clip that made him “the wine guy” to people who had never heard of him was a tasting, not a binge, and the closed JustGiving page is the part of the story the first headlines could not yet print. Donations on that page settled at £24,330.43, with a further £5,069.38 listed as Gift Aid. He had asked for £2,000.

"我完全筋疲力尽,完全煮熟了,但今天真是棒极了" 告诉卫报. His first sip was about 9:30 a.m. A TikTok of the stops passed 3.2 million views in the first days. He told LBC the whole roadside operation was his son’s: printed shirts, flags in the crowd, a father who could spot the next glass without hunting for it. He swallowed most of the first four wines and spat the remaining ones. “If they were good, I might swallow it and if they were bad, they went on the road,” he said. On his own TikTok he scored the blind tasting in public: 25 wines, seven fully right, 14 mostly right, four wrong. The lineup ran from a Barolo priced around £40 down to garage-shelf bottles, miniatures, and cans. Mile one was a 2018 Burgundy Pinot Noir.

The run was for Sobell House Hospice Charity in Oxford, which cared for his mother, Caroline Gilbey, in her last days. The JustGiving page is titled in her memory. “She would have been laughing at me all the way,” he told the BBC. Amelia Foster, the hospice’s chief executive, called him a hospice hero and said the wider Sobell marathon team had raised more than £51,000 at the time she spoke. That team figure was a snapshot, not a final audit. His own page kept climbing after the Telegraph, on the Wednesday morning after the race, had him past £15,900, and after the BBC had him past £14,000. Gift Aid, the British add-on that lets a charity claim basic-rate tax the donor has already paid, is why the page shows two numbers. The £24,330.43 is what people gave. The £5,069.38 is what the tax rules added on top for the hospice.

Sobell House says it cares for more than 4,500 people in Oxfordshire each year. A viral page does not replace that work. It advertises it to people who would never have opened a hospice newsletter. The “chug” headline did the opposite kind of advertising. It turned a spit-and-guess into a drinking contest, which is a better thumbnail and a worse description of what the watch on his wrist was doing for four hours and forty-one minutes. The glasses were small. The miles were not.

Sobell House cares for thousands of people in Oxfordshire at the end of life, at the hospice and at home. On December 31, 2025, the charity posted that supporters had raised £4,509,628.85 across that calendar year, and it asked them to come back for a 50th year of care. Gilbey’s page is a sliver of that. It is also the sliver a video can move in a week, which is the unromantic lesson. Hospices in Britain spend most of their year asking quietly. A man with two glasses on his belt got strangers to pay attention to one of those asks because the ask looked ridiculous. Foster’s line was that hospices exist so people can live until they die. A blind tasting at mile 14 is a strange way to illustrate that. It is not a false one. Caroline Gilbey’s son was spending a Sunday doing something she would have recognized as him.

The physiology is the part spectators skip. Alcohol is a diuretic. A marathon already asks the body for water it does not have. Gilbey’s defense was the spit bucket he did not carry: most of the wine went on the road, and he drank water between stops. He told the Telegraph the pain of the running crowded out everything except the urge to finish, and he joked that it was a great way to stay sober. The BBC got the recovery plan in his own words. “I suppose my recovery strategy was a glass of fizz at the end. And I also had some water in between the chardonnay and sangiovese.” He has said he will not do the 25-glass version again. He has also said he will not enter the Marathon du Médoc, the September race through the vineyards of the Gironde that builds about 23 tasting stops into the course on purpose. One stupid idea, in his telling, is enough if the cause is decent.

The London Marathon around him got larger after he went home. In 2026 the race’s charity partner was Marie Curie, another end-of-life charity, which reported more than £2.3 million from 744 runners and said that sum was the equivalent of 100,000 hours of nursing or more than six years of its support line. Organizers said the 2026 edition was expected to clear £90 million for charity and that 59,830 people finished, a record for a marathon. None of that is Gilbey’s money. It is the scale of the event his 4:41 sat inside: a Sunday in London that now functions as a national collection plate, with one merchant’s mother as a single line on it. Sobell’s own 2025 marathon campaign page, a year after his run, showed a separate team total in the mid-twenty thousands. The hospice did not need another man drinking Barolo at mile one. It needed the year of gifts that added up to £4.5 million, and it got a viral afternoon as a side effect of a son who missed his mother.

People still describe the video as a man who drank his way around London. The scorecard says otherwise. Four wrong, fourteen close, seven exact, most of the liquid on the asphalt, a hospice page that finished more than twelve times the ask. The AEGIS Alliance later looked at the molecular version of a related obsession, the {\fn黑体\fs22\bord1\shad0\3aHBE\4aH00\fscx67\fscy66\2cHFFFFFF\3cH808080}你觉得呢吉尔贝正在用自己的神经系统做相反的实验:在双腿一无所有的时候,训练有素的古炭是否仍然有效. 关于更多这个节拍,看 奇异新闻 和 国际新闻..
