Colton, California Man Arrested in Sting, Tried to Meet Up with 12-Year-Old Girl for Sex
RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA – In a shocking turn of events, a resident of Colton, California found himself behind bars after allegedly attempting to engage in illicit activities with an underage girl. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Ruben Aguilera, was apprehended by the diligent efforts of the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement and Internet Crimes Against Children task force, as reported by the Fontana Herald News.
According to investigators and the Fontana Herald News, Aguilera utilized an online dating application on July 7 to initiate contact with an individual he believed to be an underage girl. However, unbeknownst to him, the recipient of his unsolicited message was an undercover investigator from the District Attorney’s Office.
Allegedly, Aguilera shamelessly exploited the online platform to arrange a rendezvous for sexual purposes with what he assumed was a 12-year-old girl. Little did he know that the recipient of his explicit messages was, in fact, an adept investigator working to bring perpetrators like him to justice.
Despite the inherent risks associated with his actions, Aguilera boldly proceeded to the agreed-upon location, as detailed in their online conversations. However, much to his dismay, instead of encountering a vulnerable child, he was met by law enforcement authorities who promptly apprehended him. Subsequently, Aguilera was taken into custody and subsequently booked into jail, where he awaits his impending legal proceedings.
