Texas cop gets 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting 2 men in his custody

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A former police officer that had been convicted of sexually assaulting 2 prisoners in a Texas police department will spend thirty years in prison, according to a ruling by a federal judge on Tuesday.

26-year-old Matthew Lee Sepulveda accompanied each male victim from a jail cell into an office in the same property and then gave oral sex to the men in different incidents, the victims informed a jury at a trial that lasted two days earlier in the year. One of the victims had only been 17 back then.

The stunning abuse took place throughout Sepulveda’s short assignment as a cop for the Progreso Police Department, located around twenty miles southeast of McAllen, close by the Mexico border.

The younger victim informed the court he had been apprehended following him not being able to call his mom and dad after a traffic stop in which he had been in the passenger seat. He pointed out the police officer transported him to an office and then started asking questions of a sexual nature prior to sexually attacking him.

U.S. District Court Judge Randy Crane sentenced Matthew Lee Sepulveda to 360 months behind bars, then 5 years of monitored release. He will continue to be in custody pending transfer to a federal penitentiary that will be determined at a later date.
