Boston Police Union’s Ex-President Charged with Raping 4 more Children, a Total of 5
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – The former president of the Boston Police Union is facing a shocking escalation of charges, as prosecutors revealed that he is now accused of sexually assaulting a total of five children, including his young relative. Patrick Rose, a 66-year-old former Boston police officer, was initially charged with the rape of his young relative, which began when she was just 7 years old. However, new revelations have led to 16 additional charges, alleging that Rose sexually abused and assaulted four more children.
During his recent court arraignment, Rose was confronted with the 16 new charges, brought forward by Attorney Rachael Rollins’ office from the Suffolk County District. The charges include five counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, as well as 11 counts of child rape.
Prosecutors have disclosed that one of the newly identified victims was abused within the past few years, while the other three suffered abuse in the 1990s. The extent of Rose’s alleged predatory behavior is deeply unsettling, especially considering his previous position of authority within law enforcement.
Attorney Rollins expressed her disgust, stating, “There is nothing more horrible and depraved than sexually abusing a child, and in this case, it is made even more unfathomable that the defendant is a former member of law enforcement.” She went on to emphasize that Rose had taken an oath to protect victims, but instead, he targeted and harmed the most vulnerable and innocent among us – young children.
Rose, who pleaded not guilty during his arraignment, has had his bail increased from $250,000 to $270,000 by Judge Kathleen Coffey. The judge also imposed strict conditions, including the requirement for Rose to wear a GPS monitoring device, surrender any firearms and his gun license, and provide his password. Additionally, Rose is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with a child under 16 years old and must refrain from contacting any of the victims or coming near them.
During his initial arraignment in West Roxbury District Court, Rose concealed his face, seemingly aware of the gravity of the charges against him.
