California man allegedly rapes 8-year-old girl before grandfather chases him out of house

(The AEGIS Alliance) – Cops in San Jose California apprehended a male suspect implicated in burglarizing a family’s residence earlier in August as well as raping an age 8 little girl prior to the girl’s grandpa chasing the man out of the home.

24-year-old Dupree Kenneth Hornsby is implicated in burglarizing the victim’s residence on August 6 at about 7:30 a.m. local time on Damsen Drive in the 100 block where Hornsby located the little girl playing inside her bedroom, whereupon he sexually attacked her, the district attorney’s office said.

“This nightmare of a crime has shaken all of us,” District Attorney Jeff Rosen mentioned in a statement on August 10. “The alert police officer who saw and arrested this predator just hours later, and before anyone else was hurt, is a credit to the badge and our community.”

After Dupree purportedly ceased raping the little girl, she went to her grandpa that chased after the man and ran him out of the property, The Mercury News reported.

Hornsby is not connected to the adolescent victim nor her family members, the San Jose Police Department as well as the district attorney noted.

The young girl victim, that had been questioned and treated for injuries at the District Attorney’s Child Advocacy Center, provided a precise explanation of the incident with Hornsby to authorities, that managed to find him in the neighboring area in under two hours afterward at 9:10 a.m. local time.

Dupree Kenneth Hornsby faced arraignment on Tuesday and is facing life behind bars if found guilty of the crimes.

Police are asking any person who has additional details regarding the case to get in touch with Detective Yue or Detective Sgt. Marquardt of the San José Police Department’s Sexual Assaults Investigation Unit at 408-277-4102.
