‘Get off my Lawn!’ Texas man arrested after armed standoff with police over neglected lawn

A man in Texas got jailed after an armed standoff over his neglected front lawn.
The incident began in Fort Worth at about 8:30 a.m. on Friday in the morning after urban area code enforcement cops went to a residence to mow a lawn that had been neglected and became overgrown. Authorities in Fort Worth stated they were working with the gardeners to hand out a citation to the property owner for grass that was too high, FOX4 reported.
After nobody responded to the doorbell, the workers started with the job at the residence. But then, the front door quickly swung open and a number of gunshots were fired at the employee as well as the cops. More cops arrived, including a SWAT team.
Nobody got wounded during the shooting, however, a number of automobiles got hit by bullets. A standoff took place for some hours where the male suspect fired from within his home 2 additional times.
Not long before 1 p.m., the cops used teargas and also forced the guy to come outside the residence. There is a video of the scene that reveals the male suspect was wearing a personal hazmat suit when he gave up and surrendered to authorities.
City officials said the male suspect had many code violations associated with his residential property going back to 2010.
The man, whose identity hasn’t been released, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
