Taking out the trash means gator waders, a Chihuahua stuffed in the overalls, a kayak full of bags, an ATV on the far bank, and sometimes a locked gate that turns the last stretch into a walk. She is 47 and has been on that river about 25 years. She told Newsweek she is “not afraid of gators, just mindful.” Hurricane Idalia came through. The bugs never leave. She still calls the trade worth it: “The bugs, trash runs, gators, snakes, none of that compares to the peace.” Commenters said they would just live in a pile of bags. One said it was what their husband imagines every time he is asked to take the trash out.<\/p>\n
