We have <a href=\"https:\/\/theaegisalliance.com\/2017\/04\/22\/drug-cartel-location-fort-myers-florida-exposed-aegis-alliance-anonymous-around-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently pinpointed a large Drug Cartel Operation<\/a> coming into the United States at the Rincon Bar in Fort Myers Florida, at the 3900 block of Palm Beach Boulevard. The charges were for driving without a license, drug paraphernalia and Possession of Cocaine. The State Attorney Stephen B Russell did Not file charges on Heidkamp. His attorney on the case was David Brener. David Brener was arrested for brutally beating his wife, urinating, and duct taping her in September of 2016, as reported by the News Press in Fort Myers and several other Media sources. The Fort Myers News Press however failed to report the Cocaine charges he also received after beating his wife and having a gun. One might question as to how in fact the Florida Bar would allow him to even practice until these criminal charges are resolved. Brener was arrested again for violation of Pre- Trial Release alleging his G P S monitoring system, \u201ccame unplugged in the middle of the night\u201d. These devices stay charged for 24 hours with only two hours of charging. We believe this was an attempt to speak to his wife to coheres and influence her to back down from pursuing criminal actions against him. Brener has been charged for a few different violent activities over the years. N F L Superstar Sammy Watkins of the Buffalo Bills also from Fort Myers Florida has a stepbrother, Jari McMiller. Jari was involved in an alleged Rico arrest for ALLEDGEDLY being in the described gang called thee, \u201cLake, boyz\u201d, by the Fort Myers Police Department on January 23rd of 2017.<\/p>\n<p>This arrest was a ploy, and a manipulating move by State Attorney Stephen B Russell due to knowing he was, is, and has been under Federal Investigation for Racketeering himself. The Florida Statute or Rico 895.03 would not even begin to cover all the crimes committed by his Circuit Courts.<\/p>\n<p>N F L Superstar Deion Sanders was from Fort Myers with family still in the area, as well as the \u201cFreak\u201d Jeavon Kearse, playing defensive end. N F L Superstar cornerback formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, and now the Miami Dolphins was arrested by Fort Myers Police illegally in February of 2015. Former Police Chief Doug Baker was fired by the City due to attempting to cover up this illegal arrest on Nate Allen. The alleged crime to be accused of was despicable, and proven conspiracy. All the above Professional Athletes will attest to Targeting by the Law Enforcement in Lee County Florida and surrounding areas, with no help from the Judiciary for the young men, and women of color to get ahead in life.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Donald Day is representing David Brener at this time, David Brener is court appointed counsel to an alleged \u201cLakeboyz\u201d member, who attempted to remove Brener from his case and was not allowed to do so by Judge Bruce Kyle. Sammy Watkins stepbrother Jari McMiller\u2019s attorney is also Donald Day of Naples, Florida. This would be another proven Conspiracy by the State Attorney\u2019s Office. Officer\u2019s involved were accused of \u201ctipping off drug dealers\u201d, therefore clearly planting evidence, and taking payoffs to look the other way.<\/p>\n<p>The Information has not all been released at this time, the FREEH report was not completed until February 22nd, 2017. This report, signed by Former Federal Judges and F. B. We do not however condone some of these actions of sales of drugs, gun violence and alleged robberies. Russell<\/h4>\n<p>The man at the center of this article \u2014 State Attorney Stephen B. Russell of the 20th Judicial Circuit \u2014 did not remain in that office indefinitely. Russell was first elected in September 2002 and took office in January 2003, succeeding Joseph P. D&#8217;Alessandro, who had served for 33 years. Russell went on to hold the post for roughly sixteen years, which underscores a point this piece raised repeatedly: in a circuit formed in 1969, only a tiny handful of people have ever controlled the prosecutor&#8217;s office, concentrating enormous discretion in very few hands over decades.<\/p>\n<p>Russell&#8217;s run ended in 2018. Rather than the federal reckoning this article anticipated, he left on his own terms and personally backed his chosen successor. His chief assistant, Amira Fox, won a contentious Republican primary against Chris Crowley by a 57 to 43 percent margin, and was sworn in during January 2019 as the first woman and only the third State Attorney of the 20th Circuit since 1969. The hand-off kept the office inside the same close circle of insiders the article describes, with the outgoing State Attorney endorsing the incoming one to the fullest degree.<\/p>\n<p>For readers who followed the concerns laid out here \u2014 the handling of the &#8220;Lake Boyz&#8221; prosecution, the Brady-violation allegations in the Nate Allen case, and the broader claim that minorities were being targeted while connected figures avoided charges \u2014 the central question was never about a single prosecutor&#8217;s name. In November 2025, two federal investigations into Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno \u2014 allegations of money laundering and misappropriation of public funds \u2014 were closed after going to a grand jury, following the firing of Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike Gordon. The claims did not vanish with the FBI file.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2026, Ken Romano, a Bonita Springs jeweler Marceno once called his &#8220;most loyal friend&#8221; and the chief witness in that federal probe, filed a complaint with the Florida Commission on Ethics. The <a href=\"https:\/\/floridatrident.org\/sheriff-marceno-now-facing-state-ethics-investigation-tied-to-dropped-fbi-probe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Florida Trident<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wgcu.org\/top-story\/2026-05-19\/lee-sheriff-marceno-facing-state-ethics-investigation-tied-to-dropped-fbi-probe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WGCU<\/a> confirmed in May 2026 that the commission opened an investigation into a no-show consulting contract paid with taxpayer money, gifts that never appeared on financial-disclosure forms, and cash allegedly kicked back to the sheriff&#8217;s father.<\/p>\n<p>Romano&#8217;s complaint says he held an LCSO consulting contract that started at $4,000 a month in January 2022 and rose to $5,700, with Marceno telling him to &#8220;show up when you want.&#8221; He alleges he was instructed to peel off $1,700 a month in cash for Carmine Marceno Sr.&#8217;s Mercedes payments and insurance, plus unreported gifts including a $9,035 grand piano in 2020 and $2,377.03 in furniture from El Dorado Furniture in Fort Myers. Undercover FBI recordings released by Romano capture Marceno assuring him that &#8220;what you do with your personal money is your personal business&#8221; and that the public had no way to discover the payments. Marceno has called the kickback claims &#8220;completely false.&#8221; In June 2026, the Ethics Commission extended the investigation by 60 days. The FBI walked away. The state file is still open.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\">The Closed-Door Hearing In Tallahassee<\/h4>\n<p>On August 28, 2026, Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno was due in Tallahassee for a closed-door Florida Commission on Ethics hearing on a second investigation \u2014 this one built around a complaint by former LCSO commander James Bogliole, including a 2024 whistleblower letter to the U.S. Department of Justice that WINK News reported the year before. The <a href=\"https:\/\/floridatrident.org\/sheriff-marceno-faces-another-state-ethics-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Florida Trident<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wgcu.org\/top-story\/2026-08-26\/sheriff-marceno-faces-another-state-ethics-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WGCU<\/a> said the session would hear staff findings and a probable-cause recommendation in executive session. The file stays sealed until the case is resolved. That is a second track, not a substitute for the Romano kickback probe. The nameplate on the sheriff&#8217;s door changed in 2018.
