QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA \u2014<\/strong> She was at the pub for her birthday. A man grabbed her purse. She ran. Flip-flops, parking lot, no backup. Surveillance video shows her catching him, putting him on the ground, and taking the bag back while he tries to crawl toward a truck. Police charged the thief. ABC7<\/a> and the New York Daily News<\/a> ran the tape in February 2021. The internet did the rest.<\/p>\n

The AEGIS Alliance is not going to write a think piece about “vigilantism” over a grandmother who wants her purse. The thief picked the wrong table. Queensland police got a named suspect and a video that did their job for them. That is the whole story, and it is a better story than most of the crime briefs that come across this desk.<\/p>\n
