Riverside County’s Slice of Operation Reclaim and Rebuild Produced 64 Arrests and Two Women Rescued
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — Four days. Sixty-four arrests. Two women pulled out. That was Riverside County’s piece of the 2021 statewide Operation Reclaim and Rebuild, a week-long human-trafficking sweep the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force runs like a calendar appointment. Reclaim and Rebuild is not a single raid. It is an annual stack of task forces — more than 100 agencies in some years — hitting motels, websites, and sting ads in the same week so the press conference can quote a statewide total. In 2021 the statewide week produced about 450 arrests and 39 victims rescued, including children. Riverside’s 64 and two sit inside that stack. The AEGIS Alliance will count the rescues and wait on the convictions. A mugshot is not a sentence.
The 2026 edition got larger. The method did not change.
The same operation ran again the last week of January 2026. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna and the regional task force said the week produced 611 arrests and 170 victims rescued, including 14 juveniles, some as young as 13. ABC7 and the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney both published those statewide figures. San Bernardino County claimed 44 arrests and 10 rescues of its own between January 26 and 30. SLO County’s Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force claimed six arrests and three women rescued and noted it was year eight of participation.
In 2025, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman used the same brand to announce more than 500 statewide arrests, including 230 by LAPD, LASD, and Long Beach PD, with LAPD claiming 205 of those and the recovery of seven minors. The brand travels. The question is always the same: how many of the 64 in Riverside, or the 611 statewide, were buyers answering a decoy ad, and how many were the people actually holding the victims. Demand-side stings pad a press release. They do not automatically rebuild a life.
Riverside later ran a separate yearlong child-exploitation operation, RCCET’s Operation Volcano, that in May 2026 claimed more than 500 suspected CSAM distributors identified and 42 arrests off 46 search warrants. That is a different docket. Do not mix it with Reclaim and Rebuild. The AEGIS Alliance keeps the labels honest.
