Authorities arrested hundreds and rescued dozens of juvenile and adult victims throughout an annual statewide operation against human trafficking.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

LOS ANGELES \u2014<\/strong> More than 100 federal, state, and local agencies spent a week in early February 2021 running Operation Reclaim and Rebuild, the annual California human-trafficking sweep led out of the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force. When the week ended they announced about 450 arrests statewide and 39 victims rescued, including children. ABC7<\/a> put Los Angeles County’s slice at 145 arrests. ABC10<\/a> carried the statewide 450. Riverside County, covered separately by The AEGIS Alliance, claimed 64 arrests and two women rescued of its own.<\/p>\n

The brand is a week of decoy ads, motel knock-and-talks, and demand-side stings timed so every sheriff in the state can stand at the same kind of podium. Some of the 450 were people holding victims. Some were men answering a fake ad. The 39 rescues are the number that matters. A press conference that cannot separate the two is doing public relations, not accounting.<\/p>\n
