On Saturday, a dog triggered a bomb alert in New York City by detecting what it assumed was a hazardous object concealed in a vehicle, but according to law enforcement insiders, it turned out to be rat droppings.
Around midday, a private security checkpoint in Lower Manhattan was the site of an alert from a K-9 stationed there. The trained dog had identified a potential explosive device in an Acura sedan that was nearing the checkpoint situated at Broad and Beaver streets in close proximity to the New York Stock Exchange.

Afterwards, the guards expeditiously secured the automobile and informed the NYPD, who promptly dispatched an Emergency Services Unit specialized in handling explosive devices.
Nevertheless, officials quickly came to the realization that the confident canine’s behavior was actually prompted by the presence of rodent excrement on the engine of an Acura brand car.
As per sources, the checkpoint permitted the vehicle to proceed after the foul-smelling confusion.
