(The AEGIS Alliance) – The Harris County District Attorney’s Office announced that Sheborah Latrice Thomas, a woman from Houston, Texas has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing her two children in 2018 and hiding their bodies under her neighbor’s house.
Thomas admitted to drowning 5-year-old Kayiana and 7-year-old Araylon “Ray Ray” in the bathtub at their home on Tierwester Street. After their deaths, Thomas left their bodies in a trash can behind their house and went to work to pick up her paycheck.
She tried to bury the children in her backyard but couldn’t dig a large enough hole, so she rolled their bodies under her neighbor’s house.
The friend “asked more questions and she apparently showed him where the bodies could be found,” and Thomas confessed to the murders.
The friend to whom Thomas had admitted the murders reported it to the police, leading to Thomas’s arrest.
District Attorney Kim Ogg stated that Thomas had no right to appeal her sentence due to her guilty plea. KHOU-TV reports that Thomas’s husband and the father of Kayiana and Ray Ray were killed by Harris County deputies in March 2018.
Ogg wrote, “This mother knew what she was doing, she knew it was wrong, and we vowed to seek justice for these two children.”
