Alamosa city, Colorado Walmart child kidnapping thwarted by courageous bystanders

(The AEGIS Alliance) – On Thursday, a child kidnapping was thwarted by courageous bystanders who took swift action to prevent a woman from abducting a child from a Walmart in Alamosa, Colorado, according to police reports.

The city of Alamosa stated that shoppers apprehended the supposed kidnapper, Kimberli Jones, 50 years of age, until law enforcement arrived on the scene.

According to authorities, Jones is accused of forcibly taking a young child from a shopping cart within the Walmart premises just before 1 PM.

Quick-thinking bystanders intervened to prevent Jones from abducting the child and restrained her until the police arrived.

Thankfully, the child was successfully reunited with their parents, unharmed.

Jones was charged with multiple offenses including kidnapping, making a threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily harm (felony menacing), child abuse, and disorderly conduct.

Authorities stated that “The Alamosa Police Department would like to thank the brave citizens, Wal-Mart staff, and community for the quick response and for being alert.”
