(The AEGIS Alliance) – A high school cheerleading coach, age 27, who was volunteering in Boynton Beach, Florida, recently admitted to being in an inappropriate relationship with an age 14 underage female student.
Kassidy Sottilare was first taken into custody in February 2022 by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department on accusations of sex crimes involving a relationship with a student while in a position of authority, using electronic communication to lure a minor, and repeatedly driving with a suspended license. According to records, she was released from jail the day after her arrest.
A police report WPTV-TV acquired indicates a girl reported to the Boynton Beach Police that Sottilare sent her a friend request on Instagram. Sottilare then purportedly sent a suggestive message indicating her intentions toward the girl that read she wanted to “spoil and f–k with her,” as reported by WPEC-TV.
The police confiscated the victim’s phone and posed as her in their investigation. Sottilare is said to have communicated with the undercover police about sexual and smoking-related topics and attempted to schedule a rendezvous with the victim.
According to court records WPEC obtained, Sottilare recently admitted guilt to charges of illegally using a two-way communication device, committing a crime against a student while in a position of authority, and operating a vehicle while her license was revoked.
As a result of her guilty plea on Monday, Sottilare was given a sentence of two concurrent probation periods, each lasting five years. She will be required to wear an ankle monitor for the first 18 months of her probation and perform 100 hours of community service.
As reported by WPTV, during the time of the events, Sottilare held the position of a data processor at the Palm Beach Virtual School. However, her name is now not included in the school’s personnel directory.
