Ventura County, California man charged with molesting children for almost a decade

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A resident of Ventura County, California has been accused of sexually assaulting two minors over a period of almost ten years and he was charged on Tuesday, January 31st, KTLA 5 reported.

The accused male suspect has been identified as Aristeo Rivera Ramos, who is 70 years old and resides in Oak View, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

Ramos has been charged with 11 counts of committing lewd acts by force against minors under the age of 14, according to officials. If found guilty, he may receive a sentence ranging from “275 years to life in prison.”

According to authorities, the two victims were six years old when the alleged molestation by Ramos began in 2011 and continued until 2020.

The children who were reportedly abused by Ramos were also members of his family, according to officials.

Ramos was taken into custody on January 24th and was later released on January 27th under specific conditions, according to KTLA 5.

As per the arrest documents, the conditions of his release include avoiding contact with the two victims and all minors under 18 years of age and staying at least 10 yards away from the fence line separating his residence from an elementary school, KTLA 5 noted.

A court hearing where Ramos will be asked to enter a plea is scheduled for February 27th. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
