Blood-covered Iowa teen confessed to police he killed parents with knife, axe to ‘take charge of his life’

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A teenager in Iowa wielding an axe and knife brutally murdered his two parents on Thursday and said he did it to “take charge of his life,” according to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

Age 17 Ethan Orton is facing the charges against him as an adult. The teen was blood-covered when police located him outside the family’s residence in Cedar Rapids when police officers reached the scene at about 2 a.m.

While cops spoke with the teen suspect, he apparently confessed to murdering his mom and dad that has been identified as 41-year-old Misty Slade and 42-year-old Casey Orton. The victim’s bodies were discovered inside the home.

The situations that led up to the gruesome unlawful act continue to be investigated, however, court documents acquired by regional paper The Gazette give ghastly particulars concerning the murders. Orton evidently made use of a knife to stab both of his parents, however, he at that point utilized an axe on his mom after recognizing she had survived the stab wounds.

The teenager apparently said to police officers he murdered his parents to “take charge of his life” but didn’t specify what he meant about that statement.
