Parents duct-tape sex offender who broke into 5-year-old girl’s bedroom

(The AEGIS Alliance) – Authorities apprehended a registered sex offender on Tuesday in the early morning hours after the man purportedly crept into a window and went into a 5-year-old girl’s bedroom.

39-year-old Daniel Diaz was placed under arrest at a home located in the 8700 block of Charles Street in Stanislaus County, California, at about 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday after the girl’s parents confronted and restrained the suspect,

Speaking with the oldest daughter Ceci Ramirez, Martha Zepeda, the girl’s mom, said the 5-year-old’s grandma had been asleep in a back bedroom with the girl when she thought somebody was watching them through an open home window.

“He was in the living room window trying to peek in and he was grabbing his private parts and just looking around,” Zepeda pointed out, as she affirmed that the grandma had left the room and informed the girl’s dad.

The dad apparently came face to face with Diaz and told him he must leave their home or he will call the cops.

The family members believed the man left the property after that, however, by means of a Spanish translation from Ramirez, Zepeda stated: “That’s when they heard a giant, loud noise and that’s when her husband went to go check.”

When the girl’s dad rushed to her bedroom, he found that Diaz had taken off the window screen to open up the window to the girl’s bedroom and had turned the lights on.

“The man turned on the lights and that’s when my sister woke up and she got scared,” Ramirez said concerning the incident.

The dad apparently forced Diaz outside of the home and took the suspect down to the ground, then Zepeda duct-taped him and Ramirez contacted the police.

The encounter outdoors was caught on home security video at the family’s residence and revealed Diaz restrained in the yard for about 15 minutes prior to police arriving on the scene and apprehending age 39 Daniel Diaz.

“I was pretty scared because I thought the man would’ve taken and kidnapped her,” Ramirez said, as she pointed out that she took pride in her dad for defending their household.

A nearby neighbor named Erica stated that “It’s really sad that people are outside doing things like that.”

“We’re girls and we didn’t know if it was going to happen to us. It could’ve been us,” Erica added.

Diaz is a registered sex offender and had also been convicted of assault with intent to commit rape in 2009, prior to being released from prison in 2018.

Daniel Diaz now faces charges consisting of suspicion of home invasion, child endangerment, peeping, and prowling.
