Florida Man cop charged with attempted Walmart shopping fraud, is fired

25-year-old Jonathan Cain facing charges of scheming to defraud the unnamed lady, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The detectives stated he acquired her username and also her password coming from an individual online.

Cops pointed out Cain logged in on February 11 and purchased $243.11 worth of products coming from a St. Petersburg Walmart by means of the business’s mobile app. The woman’s bank alerted her of the purchase on her account and she canceled the order.

Police stated Cain made an effort once more the following day when he tried to make a $161.87 purchase at a different Walmart, this time in Pinellas Park, however that likewise had fallen short.

Cain was employed in August 2020 by the St. Petersburg Police Department and was terminated from his position on Wednesday, the Associated Press reported. Cops affirmed his probationary standing permitted them to fire him without requiring a hearing.

Pinellas Park authorities notified St. Petersburg cops earlier this week, concerning their investigation into Jonathan Cain.

On Wednesday, the ex-cop turned himself in at the Pinellas County Jail. Cain managed to post a $5,000 bond and was released one hour afterward.
