Police: Maryland mom slashed 3-year-old daughter’s throat with scissors

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A Maryland mom purportedly slashed her 3-year-old little girl’s neck with scissors on Saturday, after that turning the blade on herself, authorities stated.

The suspect, 28-year-old Anne Akers was struck with an attempted murder charge for the alleged assault inside her residence in the Wheaton-Glenmont community near Washington, DC.

A family member called the cops that morning when she went to the home as well as discovered blood on the flooring, Montgomery County Police wrote in a statement.

Police responded to the residence and located Akers, holding a blanket, on a bedroom floor with an injury to her throat.

The police officers then attempted to treat Akers’ injury and also pulled the blanket of her that she was holding.

Underneath, they discovered her 3-year-old daughter with a “life-threatening” cut on her neck, police stated.

The young child was rushed to a regional healthcare facility by means of a helicopter, where she is anticipated to make it through.

The mom was struck with a variety of charges for the alleged slashing that includes attempted murder.
