(The AEGIS Alliance) – A freight train collided with a tractor-trailer truck that was stuck on the tracks in Pendleton, Indiana.
The truck was stuck on the train tracks at about 5:40 p.m. on Friday in an area of Pendleton that had heavy traffic near Indianapolis when the train slammed into it, according to officials and witnesses.
A woman is heard in the video shouting “Oh, my God!” as the train crashed into the truck’s cab.
Fortunately, the truck’s driver had already exited the vehicle at the time of the incident, the Pendleton and Fall Creek Township Fire Department said.
A construction crew in the area made efforts to get the truck off the tracks before the collision, but to no avail, a witness said, WTHR reported.
“The force of the fast-moving train pushed the cab a couple of hundred yards from point of impact,” the department said.
“Both the train and semi caught fire, but crews were able to fully extinguish the fire,” the department mentioned.
Authorities say that nobody was injured during the terrifying incident.
