(The AEGIS Alliance) – MALIBU, CALIFORNIA – NFL Icon Joe Montana stopped a woman from trying to kidnap his baby grandchild on Saturday after an intruder broke into his Malibu home.
A 39-year-old woman had gone through an unlocked door at Montana’s Malibu home where he and other family members were staying, according to TMZ.
Authorities have not yet identified the intruder who reportedly snatched a baby out of another woman’s arms who may have been a family member. The woman intruder walked away with the child and that’s when she ran into Montana and his wife Jennifer in a different area of the house. The married couple confronted the kidnapper then wrestled the child away from the intruder.
The kidnapper then ran out of the house and fled the scene. Police were responding to an unrelated incident nearby at the time and someone at the house flagged down Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies. Deputies found and arrested the suspect a few blocks away and she is now facing kidnapping and burglary charges.
64-year-old Joe Montana and his family have not yet made public comments about the incident. It is not known at this time who was holding the baby grandchild when the intruder reportedly grabbed the baby out of a person’s arms. However, TMZ’s initial report said the baby was asleep in a playpen at the time of the incident.
The sheriff’s office hasn’t released an official statement regarding the incident at the time this article was published.
