(The AEGIS Alliance) – ORLANDO, FLORIDA – A Florida Man has been arrested after detectives with the Orlando Police Department said he stabbed two men several times as the result of an argument involving his lewd activities in the presence of women and children, one of the victims died, according to ClickOrlando.com.
Orlando police officers reported hearing gunshots on April 4 while they patrolled the Pineview Apartment Complex. One of the officers reported they spotted an SUV driving away from the crime scene at high speeds as the officers arrived at the location. 46-year-old man Craig Chavers was found inside the vehicle and told police he was struck by a gunshot, ClickOrlando.com reported.
People in the area of the crime told police they heard about 12 gunshots and that others were seen fleeing the scene. Someone who called 911 reported there was an injured male victim during the incident who was transported to a hospital in a civilian vehicle, the arrest reports says according to ClickOrlando.com.
Two victims showed up with stabbing injuries at Advent Health later that day. One of the men had been stabbed all over his body at least four times and has been identified as Brandon Jerell Ingram, he later died at the hospital. A second male victim was taken to the Intensive Care Unit and suffered a stabbing injury to his ribs, he survived, ClickOrlando.com wrote.
The victim who survived the incident told officers that he and Craig Chavers got into an argument because Chavers was acting disrespectful towards women and children and that Chavers was urinating in public. Then Chavers stabbed him, the victim told police. The victim was unable to recall what happened after he had been stabbed, ClickOrlando.com described the police report as saying.
Craig Chavers was placed under arrest on April 5 and is facing murder and attempted murder charges. It is unclear if Chavers was actually wounded by a gunshot since the police report didn’t mention it.
