The Fontana P.D. has Internet Crimes Against Children detectives and a Fugitive Apprehension Team served a search warrant at Mr. Javier Lara’s home in the 600 block of S. Beechwood Avenue at around 11:00 am and discovered he was downloading child pornography.
Authorities searched Lara’s phones and discovered thousands of videos and photos that depicted child pornography that involved prepubescent children, according to a July 11 news release by police.
Javier Lara was arrested and then booked at the West Valley Detention Center.
Lara is being held on a $50,000 bail. On July 12 he appeared in court at the Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse where a confidential discovery document was filed, and an affidavit was also filed according to court records. He is still in custody as of July 15 and is at his arraignment in court today at 8:01 a.m., court records show.
Lara is facing two felony charges that include the sending or sale of obscene matter that depicts a minor, and possession or control of child pornography.
Javier Lara pleaded not guilty today in court and has been given a Public Defender for his defense, the case is going to trial. However, there is strong evidence stacked against him by prosecutors. The FBI has files on Mr. Lara.
Lara’s next court dates are scheduled for July 22 and 24, both at 8:30 a.m. These are a pre-preliminary hearing and a preliminary hearing. Lara is still being held in county jail at this time.
