Chicago cops investigated over alleged sex with migrants, including a now-pregnant teen girl
Multiple police officers from Chicago are currently under investigation for purportedly engaging in sexual activities with susceptible migrants residing in temporary settlements within their area. These incidents involve one individual who has been accused of impregnating a teen girl.
The alarming allegations are being investigated both by internal affairs and an independent watchdog, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) confirmed to The Post on Friday.
The concerning accusations are currently under investigations by both internal affairs and an autonomous overseer, as stated on Friday by the Chicago Police Department (CPD).
The attention is directed towards four officers situated in a West End facility, which is among several scattered throughout the Windy City that have been transformed into a short-term haven for the immense influx of recent immigrants, as conveyed by the department to the Chicago Tribune.
The probe involves claims that a portion of the immigrants — around 10,000 of them have reached Chicago within the past year — could possibly be minors, according to insiders who informed NBC Chicago.
According to sources who spoke to the Chicago Sun-Times, one officer is alleged to have impregnated a teen girl, with her specific age undisclosed. This accusation is particularly incriminating.
Authorities did not disclose whether the implicated officers had been removed from their law enforcement authority, or if any of the accusations had been forwarded to legal prosecutors. The launching of the investigation remained unknown as well.
When questioned about the Sun-Times article, which contained the accusation of a teenager becoming pregnant, a representative from the CPD commented: “These allegations are under investigation with CPD’s Bureau of Internal Affairs and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.”
Police stations throughout Chicago — along with other communal areas, such as airports — have transformed into impromptu havens following authorities’ announcement of an emergency situation caused by the influx of migrants into the city offering refuge since the August of last year.
The majority originate from Venezuela and have arrived in the urban area after traversing across the border to reunite with friends and family members. A portion has been transported to the vicinity by Governor Greg Abbott of Texas or on buses coordinated by benevolent organizations.
Police officers have previously expressed dissatisfaction regarding the lack of support received from the new mayor, Brandon Johnson, who asserted during his inaugural speech “there’s enough room for everyone in the city of Chicago.”
When questioned regarding the investigation into sexual abuse, a representative for the mayor informed the Sun-Times: “The city takes these allegations, as well as the care and well-being of all residents and new arrivals, very seriously.”
