South Carolina County Supervisor Charged with Meth Trafficking

(The AEGIS Alliance) – CHESTER COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA A grand jury has indicted the supervisor for Chester County after he allegedly used government vehicles to run a methamphetamine trafficking operation while still on the job.

A grand jury indicted Chester County Supervisor Kenneth Shane Stuart who is facing several charges of trafficking and distributing meth.

The grand jury indictments against Stuary were unsealed by South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, according to a September 24 announcement.

The indictments charge Stuart with public corruption and also narcotics offenses. The state attorney general’s office alleges that Stuart also tried to steal catalytic converters from county-owned vehicles.

Stuart has been charged with conspiracy, two counts of distribution of meth, and common law misconduct while in office, the first indictment says. .Stuart is charged with trafficking meth in the amount of 10 grams or more. This is a felony crime and the penalty for it is 3-10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Stuart was also charged with an arrest warrant for trafficking meth that was 400 grams or more, which has a penalty of 25-30 years in prison and a fine of $200,000, the second indictment says.

Also facing charges in the meth trafficking investigation are 32-year-old Ace Donovon Hembree and 40-year-old Brittany Jane Oneppo. Kenneth Shane Stuart is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
